Founded in September 2015 by Odin Wolf and Jordan Von Grae, Kvlts Of Vice took the Sydney local music scene by storm, quickly forming a reputation for their exuberant, high energy live performances, and their tendency for genre-bending within the soundscape of hard rock and heavy metal.
Coining their sound as Dark Rock’n’Roll, the band launched their debut EP, Death on the Delta, to a sold-out Brighton Up Bar in January, 2016. Their first offering was met with positive reviews that echoed the recognition of potential, and the desire to experience how the group would develop, given the chance to hone their sound. The Sydney four-piece spent the remainder of 2016 tightening their live shows both locally and interstate, before releasing their sophomore release, titled ‘OMEN’ in January, 2017. Their second release allowed for an appreciation amongst critics, detailing that while the EP was only short, it had appeared that the band had further developed their sound.
2017 saw the band release a further two stand-alone singles, before deciding to take some time off performing live to focus on exploring their sound further. Kvlts Of Vice then underwent a line-up change, which brought the introduction of Tomas Bateman (Drums), and Tory Giamba (Bass). These developments took the group to new and unexplored musical heights, which began to take shape as of the start of 2018.
With a new outlook on both their music, and stage performance, 2018 proved to be the bands most promising year to date. Having written an entirely new set, the four-piece were hellbent on road testing their new material. Following a few shows both locally and interstate, Kvlts Of Vice then went on to support international acts such as L.A. Guns, Hardcore Superstar, and Fozzy. The group entered Electric Sun Studios in September, 2018 to record two singles, which are currently scheduled for release in April and June, 2019, respectively. Produced by Stevie Knight, the singles will be accompanied with videoclips, filmed by Tim Grose (LORD/Dungeon), and will be the groups first offerings since 2017.
Armed with an arsenal of brand spanking new tunes, Kvlts Of Vice are set to take on 2019 with full force. The past year has seen the band work tirelessly behind the scenes, both within the realms of honing their sound, and developing a new conceptual era.
From the mausoleum to the bayou, Kvlts Of Vice bring melodic, blues driven grooves with a punk influence, harboured under a dark aesthetic.
